PART thriller, part cookery lesson, The Iranian Feast is a story of a family working out how life will be in the future.

It focuses on Abbas, a loving father, a great friend and a fantastic cook. During the performance Abbas, together with help from his wife, daughter, friends and neighbours prepares traditional Persian food.
Into his cooking pots he adds fresh herbs, spices, sweet vegetables, and Eli's mother's secret ingredient.

As they prepare the food, a story unfolds of a family that is trying to live an extraordinary life in extraordinary times.

"We wanted to make a piece that is about us and the world and about the things we share in common as much as the things that separate us," said artistic director Gavin Stride.

"Our hope is that people will feel that they have spent an evening in the company of new friends."

As the audience sit with the family in their living room, the show explores the similarities of family life, no matter where people live. Audience members are invited to be part of a family celebration and to share a small taste of Persian supper together. There's an opportunity to taste small starters of freshly cooked Persian food.

"This is an exciting opportunity to experience a great piece of new theatre which has an unexpected and mouth watering element of tasting Persian food," added Fiona Fraser-Smith of Beaford Arts.

The Iranian Feast, performed by Farnham Maltings, is at:
