Tehran, Dec 15, IRNAForeign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qasemi on Thursday thanked Kenyan government and judicial officials for freedom of two Iranian lawyers.

* * * The two law professors were arrested upon a tip-off from the Israeli lobby in Nairobi on December 1.
They were on a mission to Nairobi to provide Iranian prisoners with counsel rights.
Qasemi said that the Foreign Ministry undertook diplomatic initiatives and hired local lawyers in Nairobi to release the Iranian citizens.
Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif assigned Deputy Foreign Minister for consular, Parliamentary and Expatriates Affairs Hassan Qashqavi to go to Kenya and initiate negotiations with respective Kenyan officials to remove misunderstanding and secure their immediate release.
Abdolhossein Safaei and Nasrollah Ebrahimi, Tehran University professors, were interrogated on November 29 and released.
But, the Israeli lobby in Nairobi fabricated charges against them which led to their arrest on December 1 again.
