President Rouhani arrived in Ankara late Friday in order to have meetings with high-ranking Turkish officials following an official invitation by the President of Turkey. Upon his arrival at the Esenboğa Airport in Ankara, Dr Rouhani was welcomed by Minister of Development Cevdet Yılmaz, Iranian Ambassador to Ankara and a number of Iranian officials. The official welcoming ceremony will be held tomorrow at the Turkish presidential palace. Dr Rouhani is set to meet with President Erdoğan and attend the meeting of high-ranking officials of Iran and Turkey. A number of agreements and cooperation documents will also be signed between the officials of both countries President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has welcomed Iranian President Hassan Rouhani with an official ceremony at the Presidential Palace in the capital Ankara on Saturday. During the ceremony, Rouhani greeted welcoming Turkish troops, saying “hello, soldier” (merhaba, asker) in Turkish. The respective national anthems of the two countries were played and a 21-gun salute was fired. The two leaders have started a bilateral meeting. Turkey’s Foreign MinisterMevlut Cavusoglu, Economy Minister Mustafa Elitas, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Berat Albayrak and Ankara governor Mehmet Kiliclar also attended the ceremony.
