Michel Chossudovsky (born 1946) is a Canadian economist and founder of the website GlobalResearch.ca ("Centre for Research on Globalisation"). He is a professor of economics at the University of Ottawa, a contributor to the French magazine Le Monde diplomatique, a recipient of Serbia''s Gold Medal of Merit and an author.
After working for the United Nations as a consultant and advising several governments in Latin America and Africa, he became renowned for his criticism of neoliberalism and the Washington Consensus. In 1993 Chossudovsky wrote an article in the New York Times saying that Yeltsin''s neoliberal reforms and privatization policies would lead to disaster.
